Peeling Potatoes

For easy potato peeling, boil them with the skins on and then put them into cold water for 5 seconds. Then simply twist the< potatoes and the skin will peel right off!

Handy storage

Plastic fruit-punnets are ideal for storing small bits and bobs. You can see what’s inside, the lids are attached and stay closed, and they are easy to stack.

Clothes storage

Hang a bundle of chalk in your wardrobe. It will absorb any excess moisture and keep your clothes fresh.

Zap those germs

Used dishwashing sponges are the perfect home for harmful germs. To keep them clean and safe simply zap them in your microwave on high for 2 minutes. (just make sure they don’t contain any metal).

  1. To stop cut lettuce from going brown, store it in mason jars in the fridge.
  2. Stop celery from wilting by wrapping it in foil before putting it in the fridge. It will last for weeks.
  3. To stop potatoes from sprouting, store them with an apple.

Use whiteboard pens on kitchen glass splashbacks or any glass surfaces such as mirrors.

Blitz it clean

An easy way to clean your blender after use: fill it to one third with hot water, add a couple of drops of washing up liquid and then turn it on.
