The many benefits of massage therapy

One of the benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This happens because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals that produce feelings of wellbeing. Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced.

Massage can:

  • Reduce muscle tension
  • Improve circulation
  • Reduce stress hormones
  • Promote relaxation
  • Increase joint mobility & flexibility
  • Provide a feeling of alertness
  • Reduce anxiety & depression

So, unplug, relax and unwind with a range of massage therapies at Farida Thai massage.

Traditional Thai massage

Traditional Thai massage is an ancient therapy that’s been practised in Thailand for centuries. It involves lots of movement and can help with reducing stress, improving circulation and posture, and relieving chronic pain.

Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage is more of a therapeutic massage where the massage therapist works on tension in the deep tissues and layers of muscles. This type of massage is excellent for relieving chronic pains and de-stressing the body after being active, such as running or playing sports.

Back, shoulder and neck massage

If you don’t have time for a full body massage, or want to focus on your back and neck, then this may be for you. Pressure is applied between neck, shoulder, upper and lower back working on knots which have formed – commonly from sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Extreme care is taken while working on each point to provide relief.

Hot stone massage

The hot stone massage is very soothing. Smooth and rounded Basalt river rocks are heated and placed on pressure points. The heat relaxes strained muscles making it easier for the therapist to work on the innermost layers of muscles without applying much pressure.

Massage therapies include:

  • Traditional Thai massage
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Back shoulder & neck massage
  • Hot stone massage
  • Thai foot massage
  • Aromatherapy Thai oil massage
  • Warm oil massage
