HQ Children’s House of Learning

Originally a small cosy house, it has been transformed into a charming childcare facility with a warm and homely atmosphere, complete with a spacious leafy backyard designed for nature play. While it may seem unassuming from the front, it opens to a wonderful world of exploration for young children.

Owner Anita Endersby, along with an amazing team, combines her Montessori background with her passion for science. They believe that science is the catalyst for children's curiosity about the world around them. Their goal is to encourage children to explore and think for themselves and ask questions without the fear of making mistakes.

Centre philosophy

The experienced team believe that children learn best through exploration, guided by gentle support. By providing children with opportunities to explore, they gain confidence and become eager to take on new challenges.

Hand-picked team of educators

HQ Children's House of Learning takes pride in their dedicated team of educators. Everyone has been carefully chosen for their maturity, warmth, compassion, dedication, and specialised skills, such as Montessori training or degrees in science. The team encourages children to be inquisitive and follow their own interests, using their natural curiosity to teach them how the world works and to foster a love of learning.

Science & social skills programs

The centre offers a unique STEAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths). This focuses on academic development but also nurtures children's social and emotional intelligence. Their specialised program, called SCILS (Self Care & Integral Life Skills), helps young children with self-care tasks such as dressing and personal hygiene, and activities such gardening and caring for living things.

The STEAM curriculum introduces age-appropriate scientific concepts, in areas such as biology, botany, chemistry, matter, movement, music, and art. This program encourages children to seek new challenges, ask questions, explore ideas, and develop problem-solving skills.

Indoor and outdoor learning

HQ Children's House of Learning has indoor and outdoor spaces which connect seamlessly. Everything designed to present their unique science-based program in an age-appropriate manner, encouraging children's journey of discovery.

The centre provides a calm and secure space where children have the freedom to learn through various activities in the indoor and outdoor classrooms, as well as the large natural playground area.

Toddler House – 1.5 years to 3 years

The Toddler House is for children aged 1.5 to 3 years, a crucial period of physical and emotional development. Here, children transition from toddling to walking, climbing, and jumping, while also developing their language skills. The emphasis is on practical life experiences helping children become self-reliant and resilient. They are introduced to music, art, and an introduction to biology and other sciences.

Pre-Kindy/Pre-school – 3 to 6 years

The programme provides an opportunity to explore the world and the universe. This age range focuses on developing more complex social understanding and work in small groups. The program expands on the SCILS program, emphasising social skills, resilience, empathy, and introducing more abstract concepts through the STEAM component.
