Reduce Reuse Recycle

Smile! You can now recycle dental care items

While we can avoid many types of plastic and packaging – it’s more difficult to do this when it comes to caring for our teeth and gums. The good news is that there is now a way to recycle your toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers.

May 13, 2021

TerraCycle and Colgate® have partnered to create a free recycling program for dental care product packaging. This program accepts all brands.

What can you recycle?

  • Toothpaste tubes & caps
  • Manual toothbrushes
  • Electric toothbrush heads only
  • Toothbrush & toothpaste tube plastic packaging
  • Floss containers

Not accepted:  Please recycle your cardboard packaging in your kerbside recycling bin. Electronic toothbrush handles and bases are not recyclable through this program.

To recycle this waste stream properly, please make sure excess product has been removed (leftover toothpaste or floss). Please note that everything must also be dry.
