Plastic free

It's time for the Plastic Free July challenge

Did you know that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish? But there are things we can do to try and stop this from happening. An easy way to get started is to take the Plastic Free July challenge – and simply refuse to use single-use plastics during the month of July. You don’t have to be 100% plastic free to take part, just committed to reducing your plastic use.

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. It’s a great way to kick start new habits and begin to understand just how much we rely on single-use plastic – often without even noticing.

An easy way to get started is to say no to the biggest single-use plastic offenders:

  • Plastic bags
  • Water bottles
  • Takeaway coffee cups and lids
  • Plastic straws
  • Plastic drink stirrers
  • Plastic cotton buds
  • Plastic cutlery, cups and plates
  • Plastic containers

You don’t have to commit to the whole of July to take part. Why not start with a week and see how you go. After all, every little helps.
