How to Make Playdough

Making your own playdough is quick and easy to do and a great money-saver. Playdough keeps kids entertained for hours and even older kids will play with it when given the chance! There are plenty of household items that can be used as tools, such as buttons, pebbles, pasta shapes and everyday kitchenware like potato mashers and rolling pins. Try and keep the dough contained on a tray for easy cleanup.

You will need

  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 tbs cream of tartar*
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbs oil
  • 3-4 drops food colouring

*Cream of tartar is optional but it does make a better consistency dough that will keep longer.
