Handy Home Hints

7 tips for faster ironing

  1. Iron items before they are completely dry.
  2. Place aluminium foil under your ironing board cover (shiny side up) to reflect heat to the underside of the clothes. This way you are effectively ironing both sides at once.
  3. Give a crumpled item of clothing a quick spray with water and tumble dry for 5 minutes.
  4. Don’t overfill the washing machine or leave clothes sitting around once the cycle has finished.
  5. Hang up your clothes as soon as they are finished in the dryer. Depending on the fabric, some may not even need ironing!
  6. Add a fabric softener dryer sheet when tumble drying; they relax wrinkles and soften creases.
  7. Hang ironed garments immediately and don't overcrowd your wardrobe or all your hard work will be for nothing!
