Generally, it is recommended to visit your dentist every 6 months for regular check-ups and professional cleaning. Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms, this approach can help to detect minor decay, oral diseases, and other dental issues before they worsen and cause discomfort and increase in complexity and cost.

If you are at risk for certain complications or have a history of advanced decay or gum disease, then more frequent visits to the dentist may be necessary.

It is important to take care of your teeth and gums between regular visits to your dentist. Plaque is always forming on your teeth, but you can help to manage it by brushing and flossing regularly.

• Be sure to use a toothpaste that contains fluoride.
• Floss daily.
