Daniel can assist you with all aspects and design of electrical work from the smallest installation to renovations, extensions, patios and complete rewires. He can also offer expert advice about how you can save money on your electricity bill.

Services include:

  • Smoke alarms
  • Safety switches
  • Power points and switches
  • Outdoor electric heating
  • Bathroom light/heat/exhaust combos
  • Energy efficient lighting
  • General lighting & electrical
  • Switchboard upgrades
  • Surge arresters
  • Home rewires
  • Ceiling fans
  • Change to underground power
  • Safety switches

Is your home protected with residual current devices (RCDs)? RCDs monitor the main switchboard and prevent electrocution by cutting the electricity supply if an imbalance is detected.

If you’re selling or renting out your home, you need two RCDs installed. By installing two RCDs, your property’s circuits can be divided between the two. This ensures some light and power remain if one RCD activates.

Lighting

Is the lighting in your home in need of an upgrade? Austlec Electrical Services can install any type of lighting, whether it is outdoor lighting for your patio area or down lights for your living area. Daniel is very happy to provide advice on energy efficient LED lighting which can help reduce your electricity bills.

Surge arresters

Lightning strikes, mains electrical faults and even branches falling onto power lines can cause surges or voltage strikes. These pass through power lines, through the electrical switchboard and into electronic equipment. This can cause catastrophic failure or permanent damage. Austlec Electrical Services can install a surge arrester which will protect your property and electrical equipment from damaging electrical surges.

Smoke alarms

Hardwired smoke alarms are mandatory in all new homes and renovations. Existing homes should also consider having them installed as this is the best way for early smoke detection, keeping you and your family safe in the event of a fire. With a hardwired smoke alarm, you don’t have to worry about the battery running out and the smoke alarm failing. Austlec Electrical Services offer a smoke alarm installation service and Daniel can advise what type of smoke alarm can be used in a particular area and where to install your smoke alarms for maximum effectiveness.

Outdoor and security lighting

Whether it’s lighting for an outdoor deck or patio, or you want to highlight a garden feature with a spotlight, Daniel can help you make the most of your outdoor areas. He can install feature lighting such as spotlights to highlight trees and shrubs, or decking lights and lights for around your pool area. Austlec Electrical Services can also install motion sensor security lights to prevent accidents and reduce the risk of burglary.

Ceiling fans

Ceiling fans are an energy-efficient and cost-effective way of staying cool in summer. There is a wide range available, so Daniel and his team can offer help and advice on what would best suit your home and budget.

Power points

Most homes don’t have enough power points. Instead, power boards and extension cords are used, which risk overloading and overheating. Austlec Electrical Services will change single points into double or quad power points and also add extra power points if needed.

Maintenance and safety checks

Is your home safe? Austlec Electrical Services can come to your home and carry out a full electrical safety test. This will identify if any electrical circuits or equipment is overloaded, reveal any electrical hazards like live wires and identify any dodgy, non-compliant electrical work. It is highly recommended for older homes that have been renovated.
