Welcoming people of all ages with an interest in learning and understanding about the cultural heritage of Perth and Western Australia. Regular events, talks and panel discussions for all to attend.
History West is the brand name for the operations and activities of The Royal Western Australian Historical Society (Inc) (RWAHS).
The Society houses a Museum with a significant costume and art collection, an extensive reference Library, Personal Papers, Photograph Archive and a boutique bookshop of Western Australian history publications. Its purpose is to encourage the study, writing and enjoyment of the history of Western Australia in all its cultural diversity, and it encourages the understanding of history through its exhibitions, publications, research readings and community talks.
The Community Talks, and ‘History in the City’ programme host interesting speakers on all aspects of WA history at varying times throughout the year.

Becoming a member of the Royal Western Australian Historical Society is an excellent way to engage with Western Australia’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
