Orchid Society of WA
The Orchid Society of WA was formed to advance and encourage interest in the natural history, culture and conservation of orchids. The Society would love to welcome new members to share their passion for orchids.

Share your passion for orchids
Orchids are amazing plants. There are over 28,000 orchid species known, and more than 100,000 hybrids and with just a little knowledge, orchids can be surprisingly easy to grow.
They usually meet on the 4th Friday of each month at the Activity Centre in Manning.
Meetings start at 7:30 pm, but members usually start arriving at around 7:00 pm.
Plants are on display and the society has guest speakers, and guests are always welcome.
Meetings
Meetings usually include a talk about some aspect of orchid culture, but sometimes there are special events such as auctions, guest speakers, and potting demonstrations. There is an in-house competition each month, where members show off orchids in flower. There are also raffles, door prizes, and ample opportunity to talk about growing orchids.
The Society runs a sales table at monthly meetings, where orchid pots, fertilisers, potting mix, orchid plants, etc. can be purchased at very competitive prices. They also have an extensive library of orchid books that can be borrowed by members.
The Society also organises social activities such as home visits and field trips for members and guests.
