Polewalking City of Armadale
Helping seniors from City of Armadale to stay active and connect socially. All welcome.

Social engagement for seniors
This group's core mission is to foster a nurturing environment where members can partake in polewalking, an exercise that provides a comprehensive workout with known benefits for heart health, balance, and cognitive function.
Membership in the group is facilitated by the City of Armadale, who supply walking poles for a simple gold coin donation, while the group provides free tuition, ensuring an accessible and welcoming start for all newcomers. The group's meetings are a harmonious mix of exercise and socialization, allowing members to walk at a pace that suits them, followed by a communal gathering over coffee or tea.
For those interested in joining, the process is straightforward and inclusive, with no prerequisite for a nomination from current members. The group extends an invitation to potential members to partake in a trial walk at no cost, offering a firsthand experience of the polewalking activity and the group's atmosphere.
Days & times
The group prides itself on its flexible attendance policy, accommodating the varying schedules of its members, who may choose to attend as little or as often as they like, with sessions available up to four times a week. These sessions are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings, beginning at 7:30 am and wrapping up by 9 am, providing a refreshing and energizing start to the day.
Meeting place
Armadale Visitor Centre, situated on Jull Street. This venue serves as a central point for the surrounding communities of Armadale, Kelmscott, and Roleystone, making it an ideal location for the group's activities.
