The Aviation Heritage Museum’s displays help to tell the story of our aviation history and heritage. The museum is just 25 minutes from Perth CBD and it's a great day out for the whole family!
The Aviation Heritage Museum conserves and give a home to aeroplanes and other artefacts which make up Western Australia’s rich aviation heritage. It provides a unique experience of civilian and military aviation through its extraordinary displays, helpful guides and special tours.
They recommend that you allow one to two hours to explore and immerse yourself in the experience!
The best way to view some of the aircraft that the museum has on display is by purchasing an aircraft or cockpit tour. Informative guides explain the makeup of the aircraft as well as providing amazing insights into the use of the aircraft during its time and the bravery of those who flew and worked on the aircraft.
You will be able to get inside the aircraft to view the control panels, seating arrangements (some tight spaces, especially in the Spitfire) to get a better understanding of the aircraft.
The museum offers unique experiences for visitors in the hope they leave with an increased knowledge of aviation and a better understanding of what these aircraft have been used for. Certain virtual reality experiences give an insight into what the brave personnel would have felt during historical moments of time.
The hardest part will be choosing which tour or experience to do!
Tours and experiences operate on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tour and experiences are operated by volunteers and days of operations are subject to change. Please contact the Aviation Heritage Museum to book your tour and/or experience prior to visiting the museum.
