Tuxedo Junction Vocal Ensemble
A well-established choir group with a reputation for high quality performances and over 35 years of performing experience in Perth and regional Western Australia.
Tuxedo Junction is looking for new voices.
Their musical director is WAAPA-trained musician and accompanist Simone Bishop, who has been conducting Tuxedo Junction for many years. Simone conducts and/or accompanies many other vocal groups in Perth and also teaches music, bringing to Tuxedo Junction her extensive musical experience.
Tuxedo Junction comprises on average 20 singers, singing in 4 voice parts in close harmony. To maintain a high performance standard new members are selected through an audition process.
Members are almost as diverse as their music – with many ages and backgrounds of people from parents of toddlers to jet-setting retirees, singing a range of music from Bohemian folk songs to Bohemian Rhapsody, and from Blue Moon to Blue Christmas – so you’ll find plenty to like. Most members can read music fairly well, aswell as some members who learn quickly by ear, but you can judge the standard for yourself if you want to go a rehearsal.
