Discover the benefits of joining the Western Australian Horticultural Council

The Western Australian Horticultural Council has been operating since 1932 and helping amateur gardening clubs in Western Australia.

They encourage, promote, and sanction the formation of affiliated clubs and societies and once established, members can participate in the decisions of Council.

They support their affiliated clubs and societies by sponsoring and arranging two plant fairs a year which allows them to share their expertise and plants with members of the public.

Benefits of club/society affiliation include:

  • Advice and guidelines on conducting shows, including show schedules and regulations.
  • Authorisation to conduct State and District Championships and other awards and ratifying the appointment of judges officiating at such events.
  • Access to an approved register of general and specialist horticultural judges.
  • Two Garden Clubs & Societies Plant Fairs each year (end of February and mid-September).
  • Advice on horticultural matters as may be required from time to time.
  • Website promotion of members and their events.

Join an affiliated gardening club or society

It’s a well-researched fact that belonging to a group and the joys of gardening contribute to our wellbeing – and by joining an affiliated club, you get to do both!

Members clubs are always looking for new members who are active and willing to share responsibilities in running their organisations. From african violets to wildflowers, there is something for everyone. Have a look at the member list and contact the relevant club for more information.

Membership (affiliation)

The WA Horticultural Council Inc is made up of delegates representing non-commercial horticultural clubs and societies based in WA.
