The simplest beeswax wraps are made from just two things – cotton and beeswax. The wax gives the fabric a water-resistant coating which helps keep food fresh while still letting it breathe. What can they wrap?
Beeswax wraps can wrap just about anything. Obviously, they can be used to cover any shape or sized container in the fridge as they are flexible and stick to the sides. But that’s not all!
- Cover tricky shaped stuff such as cut onion or avocado.
- Wrap sandwiches and snacks in your kids’ lunchboxes.
- When travelling, wrap your soap in a beeswax wrap. Much better than a messy soap container and no chance of spills.
- The wraps will form a tight seal around glass jars if you've lost the lids.
- Cover jugs and open bottles while entertaining outside.
- If you have origami skills, they can be made into the shape of a box to hold fruit such as blueberries and grapes.
- They can even help you to open a jar lid which is stuck. They are tacky enough to provide a bit of extra grip.
