Discover the benefits of yoga

Rebecca from Bec's Yoga is a wife and mother of three. She is passionate about all aspects of Yoga and enthusiastic to share what she understands.

Bec's Yoga offers Iyengar Yoga classes for men and women of all ages. Classes cater to all levels of ability and experience.

Iyengar Yoga

Recognised as the most widely adopted yoga method in the world, Iyengar Yoga is renowned for its focus on precision, alignment, sequencing, timing, and the use of props, such as such as bolsters, benches, bricks, straps and sandbags. This helps students experience the full benefits of asana and pranayama.

Regardless of your age or level of fitness, you can enjoy the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of Iyengar Yoga.

These include:

Increased strength, flexibility and mobility

Regular practice of standing and seated/twisting poses strengthens the body and helps to develop better joint mobility.

Improved posture and balance

Iyengar Yoga helps to correct posture problems and improve your balance. One-legged poses give you the chance to find your centre of gravity and create a sense of stability in the body.

Energy, vitality and focus

The detail and precision of the Iyengar method has a grounding effect, helping to steady the breath and calm the mind. Many studies have shown that asana and pranayama can help alleviate chronic pain, anxiety and fatigue.

Improved spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing

Iyengar Yoga can have positive effects on all aspects of your life.
