Tiled roof restoration and coating steps

• Locate & fix any roof leaks.
• Change broken tiles.
• Check & repair lead flashings around vent pipes, gables, solar systems & anywhere else.
• Clean out & relip valley irons. These may need to be treated or replaced depending on rust level.
• High pressure water clean roof surface. Removing dirt, oxidisation, moss, lichen is essential to the coating process.
• Re-bed ridge & hip caps as required.
• Re-point all ridge & hip caps in colour matched flexible acrylic based pointing.
• Clean off roof debris.
• Clean & flush gutters & downpipes.
• Clean surrounding area of debris caused by roof work.
• Cover skylights, solar panels & other surfaces to ensure no over-spray.
• Spray a surface steriliser over areas susceptible to moss.
• Seal or prime surface as per Australian Standards & manufacturer’s recommendations (this may not be required on clay tiles)
• Apply 2 coats of colour specified acrylic membrane coating. (Membrane coating on average is 6 times thicker than normal paint)
• Randomly apply 2 tone colour
