When it comes to choosing a material for your outdoor areas, pavers are one of the most popular options. But should you go for clay (also known as brick) pavers or concrete pavers?

Concrete pavers

  • They are durable and low maintenance, and can handle heavy weights without cracking, which makes them perfect for a driveway.
  • Concrete pavers can be manufactured to any size, shape, or texture which offers a lot of options depending on the look you are going for.
  • The life expectancy of most concrete pavers is around 30 years.
  • They can be laid in many patterns depending on the area you are paving.
  • They can survive our intense summer heat.
  • Concrete pavers are a cost-effective way to update your home.
  • Their strength and non-slip properties make them a very safe choice.

Clay/brick pavers

  • Clay pavers are made from clay (the clue’s in the name!) before being heat treated and formed into the familiar brick shape.
  • Clay pavers will typically last anywhere between 50 and 100 years making them a great investment for your home.
  • Because the colour runs right through the paver, they won’t lose their colour over time in the Australian sun.
  • They are flexible, which means they are unlikely to crack.
  • Clay pavers come in a range of warm, natural earth tones such as browns, reds, oranges, and tans.
  • They are low maintenance and perfect for all areas of your home.

Whichever pavers you choose it’s always best to have them installed by a professional to make sure your paved areas will last.
