Don't become a DIY statistic!

Gutters and downpipes need to be cleaned regularly so they can do their job properly - but it's not always a good idea to do it yourself.

Cleaning gutters may seem like a simple job, but it can be dangerous. The number one cause of DIY injuries is falls and every year, Australians (mainly men!) are falling off ladders at an alarming rate. When up a ladder, it’s easy to lose your balance as they are rarely secured correctly in the first place.

While it might seem like a clever idea to grab a bucket, a ladder and clean your gutters yourself, it’s not for a couple of reasons:

  • Cleaning your gutters by hand with a bucket is very inefficient and will not remove all the grime and debris effectively, so you are basically wasting your time!
  • Working at heights is something that should not be attempted unless you are fully trained, with the right equipment and fully insured.

Falling off a ladder and potentially causing yourself severe injury is just not worth it, so call your local gutter cleaning expert to do it for you.
