Pharmacies are constantly expanding the range of services they provide to their customers to make life healthier and more convenient. Pharmacists work closely with GPs, specialists, allied health professionals and hospitals.
Blood pressure monitoring
If your blood pressure is high, it is putting extra strain on your arteries and on your heart. This is also known as hypertension. Keeping a close eye on your blood pressure is a good way to catch changes early and take appropriate action. An easy way to monitor your blood pressure is through in-pharmacy blood-pressure monitoring and recording, with referral to medical support when necessary.
Certifying documents
A certified copy is a copy of an original document such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of identity that has been authorised (or stamped) as being a true copy of an original.
These certified copies are often required in support of loans, job applications and government services. Pharmacists are generally authorised to certify that documents are true copies of originals.
Baby services
Your pharmacist can provide advice and products to help you treat minor baby conditions such as nappy rash, eczema, cradle cap and teething.
They will also refer your child to a doctor if necessary, which is important as it can sometimes be difficult for parents to determine whether their baby requires medical attention. This is why pharmacies are a great first stop for all those questions new parents are worried about, but unsure if a visit to the GP is necessary.
