Share surplus citrus with your neighbours!

It’s citrus season and most people won’t use everything they grow, even from just one tree. So, why not take any excess you have and share it with your community.

Sharing your excess produce is a great way to meet new people, connect with your local community and reduce food waste.

  • Pick your produce from your trees before if falls, otherwise it will rot and then no-one can use it, which would be a real shame.
  • Place your excess produce in boxes or buckets and place them at the end of your driveway or on your front verge.
  • Add a sign inviting people to take what they need.
  • Print out a few recipes suggesting what neighbours could make with the produce.
  • To get you started, here is our recipe for flourless polenta lemon loaf: https://www.littleaussie.com.au/post/flourless-polenta-lemon-loaf

By sharing your extra produce, all your hard work will not go to waste. And it is a great way of helping your neighbours and making new connections in your community.
