Kick start your day with a glass of water

Isn't it great that something so simple has so many benefits. The human body is made up of more than half water and staying well hydrated helps the brain and body function normally. It's a good reminder that keeping up your water intake is an easy way to support your overall health.

If the first thing you grab in a morning is your coffee - try water instead (don't panic, we're not suggesting you give up your morning coffee - just have a glass of water first!).

Your body will be dehydrated after fasting all night, so drinking water first thing helps you to start your day feeling focused and clear-headed, ready for your tea or coffee, and breakfast.

We also need plenty of water to:

  • Keep eyes, nose & mouth hydrated
  • Regulate body temperature
  • Absorb nutrients
  • Kickstart your gut & aid digestion
  • Prevent constipsation
  • Lubricate & cushion joints to help you move
  • Produce hormones & transmitters
  • Reduce the risk of urinary tract infections
  • Protect organs & tissues
  • Flush out waste products
  • Carry nutrients & oxygen to cells
  • Support cell growth & reproduction
  • Prevent headaches
  • Moisturise the skin
  • Prevent 'brain fog'

There is no need to pay for bottled water, Australian tap water is always a great choice.

If you have any medical conditions, you should discuss your water intake with your doctor.
