  • Make sure the garden is tidy, the lawn is mowed, and any garden beds are weed-free.
  • If you park your car in the driveway, it may have oil stains or other marks. A high-pressure hose can help to remove stubborn stains and any moss that has accumulated.
  • Clean the windows and remember there's more to cleaning windows than just the glass!
  • If the property owner is okay with you having a pet – make sure there are no lingering pet smells, damage, or stains. You could also ask a friend to take your pet while the inspection takes place.
  • Check any sliding door tracks. They are like a magnet to dust, cobwebs and dead insects!
  • Make sure carpets are clean. If you do have any persistent stains, it may be worth getting a carpet cleaner in to do the job.
  • And remember – the inspection isn’t just for property owners. This is a great opportunity for you to point out any damage or areas that need fixing.
