Supplies
-
Cup and saucer (your local op shop is a good place to look if you don’t have one)
-
Glue suitable for ceramics
-
Succulent potting mix
-
Gravel
-
Succulent cuttings, mini succulents, or air plants (also known as Tillandsias - a member of the bromeliad plant family)
Decorations to create your miniature scene, such as:
-
Pebbles and stones
-
Tiny figurines
-
Seashells
-
Colourful marbles
Or you could make your own with air-dry clay.
Instructions
-
Glue the cup to the saucer (optional, but it helps to prevent accidents!).
-
Add a little gravel to the bottom of the cup, then fill with succulent potting mix.
-
Plant the cuttings and arrange your decorations to create your miniature scene.
-
Water your succulents minimally - just the occasional dribble of water. Since the teacup does not have a drainage hole, it’s important to avoid excessive watering.
