  • Dust and sweep your hardwood floors regularly to remove dirt and debris. You can also use a damp mop or cloth to clean your floors, but be sure to avoid soaking the wood, as excess moisture can cause damage.
  • Close the window blinds/curtains in really hot weather to prevent sun damage and fading.
  • For tough spills and stains, use a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors. Be sure to test the cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn't damage the finish.
  • To protect your floor from scratches, use doormats at any entrances to your home to reduce the amount of dirt and debris that gets dragged inside.
  • Use felt pads on furniture legs to prevent scratches and scuffs.
  • Rugs and hall runners will help to prevent dents caused by high heels – they look fab and are a great way to personalise your space.
  • Avoid pools of water on your hardwood floor by cleaning up spills straight away to prevent damage.
  • Depending on the finish and wear on your hardwood floors, you may need to have them refinished every few years. This will help restore the shine and protect your floors from damage.

By following these tips, you can keep your hardwood floors looking beautiful for years to come.
