You will need
-
A clear jar (or glass or vase)
-
Shaving cream
-
Food colouring - blue for the rain (or you could also do rainbow colours).
-
Droppers/pipettes (you could also add the 'rain' using a teaspoon if you can't find any droppers).
-
Small bowls to dilute your food colouring - one for each of your colours (if you are using more than one).
-
Cover the area you will be working on with a plastic sheet - just in case of spills!
-
Dilute your food colouring in a small bowl- one part food colouring to two parts water.
-
Fill your jar about 3/4 full of cold water.
-
Squirt shaving cream on top of the water. Try to add the shaving cream in short bursts so it looks like clouds. This also helps the food colouring to run through and create interesting patterns.
-
Start dropping your 'raindrops' into the 'clouds' with your dropper or teaspoon and wait for it to start raining!
-
If you are using more than one colour, add them quickly, one after the other.
