4 signs the taps in your home may need replacing
Drip, drip, drip
If one of your taps is dripping even though you have replaced the washer, it could be time for a new tap. A slow leak or constantly dripping tap can waste up to 9,000 litres of water a year, not to mention the annoying sound!
Two-hand turn-off
If you find yourself having to turn the tap tighter and tighter each time to stop the water, it is time to call a plumber.
Noisy taps
If you notice clanking, clicking, or any other unusual sounds, your taps should be checked over more closely. It could be mineral deposits in your pipes, or your taps could be reaching the end of their life.
Inconsistent flow
Your tap’s water flow should be smooth. If it starts to splutter or stop and start, the best thing to do is to call in a licensed plumber.
It’s a good idea to get your taps checked out every now and again, just to make sure they’re in good working order. Your local plumber will be able to let you know when they are in need of repairs or replacement.
