How it works
The basic idea is simple. You upload a file from your device to an online account, and it gets stored on a remote server. Later, when you open or download that file, you're pulling it back down from that server to your device.
Most services also sync automatically, meaning any changes you make on one device show up on all your other connected devices too.
Access from anywhere
This is where cloud storage really shines. Your files aren't stuck on one device. If you've got an internet connection and your login details, you can get to your files from your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop, wherever you happen to be.
