12 alternative uses for hand sanitiser
July 21, 2022
There’s no magic ingredient in hand sanitiser, it’s the alcohol content that makes it handy for lots of things.
- One of the most germ-infested items we own is our phone. In fact, it can be germier than a toilet seat! To clean it up, put a small amount of hand sanitiser on a soft cloth and give your phone a clean.
- Clean your glasses or sunglasses.
- Used a permanent marker by mistake on your whiteboard? Use some hand sanitiser on a cloth to get rid of your mistake (no one will ever know!).
- Get rid of paint stains on just about any surface.
- Remove sticky residue from labels.
- Stop mosquito bites from itching – it really works!
- Use as an emergency deodorant - just wipe it on and let it dry (don’t do this on freshly shaved armpits though as it may sting!).
- Use it to clean car mirrors and windows (it can also prevent fogging!)
- Clean up the inevitable spills on child car seats.
- Wipe away fingerprints from stainless steel appliances.
- Clean your hair straighteners or iron (when cold). Put some hand sanitiser on a soft cloth and wipe onto your appliance; wait a couple of minutes and then wipe with a clean, soft cloth.
- Deodorise smelly feet! Just like in your armpits it’s the bacteria causing your feet to smell! Rubbing them with a bit of hand sanitiser will help.
