Eat a healthy diet

Yes, we know, you've heard it a million times, but it really does play a big role in your overall health! Including plenty of fruits and vegetables whole grains, healthy fats, and lean proteins in your meals provides your body with the essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants it needs to support your immune system.

There’s also some interesting research suggesting that a healthy gut (filled with good gut bacteria) can boost your immune system. So, consider adding high-fibre plant-based foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, and lentils to your plate - and fermented foods like live yogurt or kefir might be worth a try!

Drink lots and lots of water

Don't forget to drink enough water throughout the day. Water helps transport nutrients and oxygen to your cells while carrying away waste products. It's like a superhero for your immune cells, supporting their efficient functioning and the overall immune response.

Get enough sleep

When life gets hectic and we're feeling worn out, our immune system tends to take a hit. So, getting enough quality sleep and taking care of your sleep routine can have a positive effect. Aim for around 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep  each night.

Exercise regularly

Regular physical activity helps improve circulation, reduce stress, and strengthen the immune system. And did you know that simple stretching can help you to stay active? So, don’t underestimate the power of a good stretch!

Manage stress

Chronic stress can negatively affect immune function. Incorporate stress management techniques like meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, or engaging in hobbies you enjoy. And don’t forget to get out and about – staying socially connected is good for you and your health.

Remember, a healthy immune system is a result of overall healthy habits and lifestyle choices. While these tips can support your immune system, it's always important to consult with a healthcare professional for personalised advice.
