Fill or empty the dishwasher
As soon as the ad break starts, leap into action and load the dishwasher. And when another ad break comes around you can empty it!
Clean the skirting boards, windowsills or bookshelves
Grab a damp cloth and give the skirting boards in the room a wipe. You can also give your windowsills a wipe down – no idea why, but this seems to be the popular resting place for dead flies and other insects! Ditch the dust in your home!
Disinfect your gadgets!
Gadgets such as TV and air conditioning remotes can be some of germiest items in your home. Keep some antibacterial wipes on hand and give them a going over (you can even stay sitting down for this one!).
Rubbish bin
Full rubbish bin? You’ll have enough time to take it out to your outside bin and pop in a new bin liner before your programme restarts.
Vacuum
Run the vacuum cleaner over the carpet. Depending on the size of the room and the length of the ad break – you may have to do it over two. You could also remove the cushions from the sofa and vacuum the crumbs and dust that is lurking there!
Toilet
Squirt some toilet cleaner into the loo and leave it to sit until the next ad break. Then give it a quick swish around with the toilet brush and flush. How to keep your toilet clean
Laundry
Over a few commercial breaks, take care of some laundry.
