Ingredients

Berry base

4 cups (about 600g) frozen mixed berries
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp plain flour

Crumble topping

1 cup rolled oats*
3/4 cup flour (plain or self-raising)
1/2 cup soft brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup butter, melted

*Substitute with your favourite muesli if you don’t have rolled oats, or if you want to add a bit of variety to your crumble mixture.

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180C.

  2. Place the berry base ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Set aside to let the berries defrost a little while you prepare the topping.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the crumble topping ingredients and stir until the mixture roughly comes together and resembles clumpy breadcrumbs.

  4. Spread the berry base in the bottom of a baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping all over the berries.

  5. Bake (uncovered) for about 40 minutes, until the topping is golden, and the berries are bubbling.

  6. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving with ice cream or custard. Delicious!
