There’s nothing more annoying than running out of phone battery. Especially when you want to check your messages or just spending some time chilling. But there are simple things you can do to make each battery charge last longer.

  1. Reduce screen brightness – one of the easiest ways to conserve battery power.
  2. If Wi-Fi is available, use that instead of 4G/5G. Wi-Fi uses up to 40% less power for internet browsing.
  3. Turn on smart battery modes. All modern mobile devices have a smart battery saving mode (e.g., Android has power saving mode and iOS has low power mode). This will modify usage for different apps, screen brightness and notifications to reduce energy consumption.
  4. Turn off location services until you need them.
  5. Try not to use the camera, as this can drain your battery.
  6. Turn off app notifications or change your settings to only receive the ones you want. And turn off Background App Refresh for your apps.
  7. Turn off automatic downloads.
  8. Delete any apps you don’t use.
  9. If you don’t have to make or receive any calls – turn on Airplane mode. This is also great in areas where there is no Wi-Fi service – that way your battery won’t drain itself searching for a signal.
  10. You can also check your battery usage in your settings and see which apps are using the battery the most. Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram are major culprits.
