Take a relaxing nature walk with your mother. Explore a local park or nature reserve and enjoy some quality time in the great outdoors.

Set up a spa at home for your mum. With a few inexpensive items such as candles, bath salts, and a face mask. It's a great way to pamper her and help her relax. You could even make some bath bombs!

Do a home project together. It could be as simple as organising a wardrobe or decluttering a cupboard.

Create a photo collage of your favourite memories with your mum. You can print out pictures and arrange them in a frame, put them in a photo album or create a digital version to sit and look at together.

If your mum loves to cook, create a mini herb garden for her. You can buy small plants and arrange them in a pot or create a DIY herb garden kit with seedlings or seeds.

Plan a movie night. You could go to the cinema or create the cinema experience at home – with treats, obviously!

Bake mum’s favourite biscuits, cupcakes, or cake. Take a look at our easy recipes for inspiration.

Create a succulent bowl (with instructions on how to look after them!).

Give your mum the gift of time

If you’re not quite ready for succulents, fill a container with plants. ‘Potted colour’ plants are usually available at garden centres for a couple of dollars each and look quite spectacular when huddled together in a container.

Remember, it's not about the cost, but the thought and effort you put into it that counts.
